We're really excited to be welcoming our customers back on Monday 9th November. Please note that due to the new restrictions, there will be changes to our operating guidance. Please read this important statement from our CEO about the re-opening of our facilities on Monday 9th November 2020.Button Text
Statement from our CEO
Firstly, I hope that everyone is remaining well. We have missed everyone in our facilities through the firebreak and we can’t wait to welcome you back. However, I am so disappointed to report that things will look a little different again in relation to the numbers we can accommodate in our facilities when we return.
Our gyms will remain with the same restrictions that we closed with prior to the firebreak. Unfortunately and with great regret, we have been advised by Welsh Government that our group exercise classes will reduce from 30 participants to 15. The same will apply to other organised indoor activity. This won’t apply to children who are under eleven.
This is disappointing news for us as we know that we are safe and that we have kept you all safe, so to hear that our numbers are to reduce further is somewhat disheartening.
Please continue to share your experiences on social media and continue to raise that your community facility is essential to ensure that you remain physically and mentally well.
We look forward to seeing you on 9th November when our doors will reopen. Our app will go live with classes, lane swims and gym sessions available at the end of Friday 6th November.
If you have any enquiries in the interim, please can you email firstname.lastname@example.org and one of the team will get back to you. Today we will commence calls to all of our swimming parents / guardians regarding the return next week. If you have not heard from us by Friday lunchtime please email email@example.com with your contact details.
Whilst messaging, I want to say a huge thank you to all of my colleagues at TLT who have worked tirelessly making sure the facilities are Covid secure. This is by no means a reflection of their hard work and commitment. We are really disappointed with the decision but thank you for your continued support in this ever changing environment.
Statement from our CEO
Further to the First Ministers announcement today and the details of the National Lockdown in Wales, our facilities at Torfaen Leisure Trust will close as instructed at 6pm on Friday 23rd October 2020 and will re-open on Monday 9th November 2020.
My first thanks is extended to every one of my Torfaen Leisure Trust Colleagues who have worked tirelessly since we have returned. They have provided a safe environment to enable all of our customers to participate in exercise safely and as a Chief Executive, I couldn't be any prouder of their hard work and commitment to date. They truly are the heart of the TLT Family. We have been astounded by the comments received regarding the measures we have implemented as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
As difficult as it is to hear that we are to close our doors again, we recognise that in order to reduce the rate of infection, as a Nation, we at TLT have a part to play and as the First Minister stated today, this is a short and deep lockdown, with an end date in sight.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to Welsh Government for their ongoing engagement with our Sector and my particular thanks to the Welsh Sports Association, Sport Wales and our partners at Torfaen County Borough Council for their ongoing support at this difficult time.
We ask you to ensure that the lockdown has the required impact and that you adhere to the guidelines set by Welsh Government to enable us to get back and stay in our facilities as long as possible.
We're relying upon your support when we get back into our buildings. We are open until Friday so please make sure you come and visit us this week. The Team will be grateful to see you ahead of our short two-week break.
I reiterate my heartfelt thanks to everybody in the community of Torfaen and beyond who have supported us. We are a charitable organisation and without your support, our community hubs will not continue to thrive.
We will continue to update you throughout this week and as a Torfaen Leisure Trust Team, we look forward to turning our lights back on on the 9th November. We'll be ready and waiting to welcome you back into our facilities.
Stay safe everybody!
